Maxine Jewell Beatley, 76, of Heathsville, Va., passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2008. She was a member of the King Carter #5 order of the Eastern Star, member of Fairfields United Methodist Church, Burgess, Va., former President of the United Methodist Women, former President of the Church Council, former Vice President of the church trustees, a Sunday School teacher and Charge Trustees.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Marvin and Maude Jewell, four sisters; Pauline Swann, Eldine Mould, Elise Murphy and Hilda Jewell, and one brother; Berkley Jewell.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years Freddie L. "Buck" Beatley, one daughter; Nancy Greenwood and husband John of Urbanna, Va., three sons; Freddie Lee Beatley and wife Joanie of Mathews, Va., Thomas Beatley and wife Tami of Lancaster, Va. and Kenneth Beatley and Terry of Lancaster, Va., one sister; Annette Newman, four brothers; L.M. Jewell and wife Irma Lee, James Jewell, Richard Jewell and wife Irene and Robert Jewell and wife Anne, one sister-in-law; Ilva Jett, nine grandchildren; Chris Beatley and wife Elizabeth, Adam, Haley, Everette, Jewell, McAyla and Kirsten Beatley, Crystle Williams and husband Nathan and Nicholas Greenwood, two great grandchildren,; Austin Howell and Nicolas Williams; many nieces and nephew, special neighbors and friends.
The family will receive friends at Faulkner Family Funeral Home & Crematory, Burgess, Va. on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 from 7:00 to 8:30PM. Funeral Services will be held at Fairfields United Methodist Church on Wednesday, August 27th at 11:00AM. Burial to follow at Wicomico United Methodist Church Cemetery, Wicomico Church, Va.
