Loved playing golf with his friends for 19 years at the Yeaman's Hall golf course. Another hobby he enjoyed was walking; calling himself a good pedestrian all his life, he walked around Park Circle each day for three miles for many, many years and then would have coffee with his North Charleston Coffee Club buddies where he would regale them with his jokes and solve the problems of the world daily. Jimmy was an avid reader and enjoyed reading the classics (Charles Dickens was his favorite author), science fiction
and biographies and went weekly to the Cooper River Memorial Library for most of this life with his wife. Another hobby was writing in his diary every day, along with singing hymns and all of the old songs.
Mr. Sollar will be remembered for his devotion to God, his family, his church and community, along with his good sense of humor and always positive, enthusiastic outlook on life. We thank God for Jimmy Sollar and giving him a long life of almost 93 years.
Mr. Sollar loved the Lord, people, life and all of God's Creation and was grateful to God for everything he was given in life.
