Born in St. Louis, MO, McAlpin had been a city resident for about 50 years. He was employed by the Culps Distributing Company prior to his illness last June. An Army veteran of World War I, he was a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include his wife, Faye, of the home; one son, Jack, 1213 N. Indiana; a step-daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Nettleton, 1150 N Durland, and six grandchildren.
