J. Schmidtmann Dies Here at 61; Salesman
John B. Schmidtmann, 61, of 1813 Rutledge St., died Tuesday (June 15, 1971) unexpectedly at home.
He was born in Manitowoc and came to Madison in 1927. He was a salesman for the Schmidtmann Co., Manitowoc, a school supply company operated by members of his family, for 31 years. He was a World War II veteran and attended the University of Wisconsin. He was a member of the Commonwealth Masonic Lodge No. 325 here, the Madison Consistory, and the Elks Lodge.
Surviving are his wife, Clara; a son, Jack Jr., New Holstein; a sister, Mrs. Dorothea Brukardt, Sheboygan; three grandchildren; and a nephew, Richard, Sheboygan.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m, Thursday in the Gunderson Funeral Home, 5203 Monona Dr.
The Rev. Stephen Ingvoldstad will officiate. Burial will be in Norway Grove Cemetery,
