Crime Victim. He made world news when he was abducted at age 7 by Kenneth Parnell and Ervin Murphy. Stayner ran away and returned home at the age of 14, after Parnell kidnapped another little boy, Timmy White. Stayner brought White with him to the police when he fled from Parnell. His experience inspired the television movie "I Know My First Name is Steven." Parnell served five years for those kidnappings. Steven was killed after a collision with a hit-and-run driver, at the age of 24. He was survived by his parents, siblings; his wife and two children.
