Baptism records at St. Patrick's in San Francisco Destroyed, Not found in records at St. Patrick's in Oakland. Unable to go further on finding baptism record. It is estimated he was born 23 Jul 1877 in Oakland, CA. His father worked for the railroad. He had 3 brothers that lived and one sibling that died as an infant. When his father died in Oakland in 1882, his mother moved them back to Chicago. His mother then died in 1889 when he was 12. I did not find him on the 1900 census and I do not know who raised these boys once their mother died. They all had an alcohol dependency as did many Irish during that time. From letters that were found, he was said to be a man of calm demeanor and was a real gentleman. He married Mary Ann Kelly in 1909 and had 3 children before he died of tuberculosis in 1919. He was a saloon keeper. He is buried at Mt. Olivet. Grave marker is next to his wife who is buried at St. Mary's. She is buried next to an empty grave. They did not pay to have him exhumed and brought from Mt. Olivet to St. Mary's. The grave marker reads his death was in 1918 which is incorrect according to his Death Certificate. He had psoriasis.
