Indian Wars Medal of Honor Recipient. Served in the Wars with the Plains Indians as a Sergeant in Company K, 7th United States Cavalry. He was awarded the CMOH for his bravery in the Sioux Campaign of December 1890. His citation reads "Distinguished bravery". His Medal was awarded to him on April 24, 1891.
