Alice M. Clark, 86, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2000 in a local hospital.
Alice was born in Seadrift, Texas on September 15, 1914. She was a teacher for the Corpus Christi Independent School District for 20 years until her retirement in 1979. Alice attended the Mary Hardin Baylor and later finished her degree of education at the University of Corpus Christi. She was also a member of Morgan Avenue Baptist Church for 35 years, she was superintendent of high school age young people, she later joined the First Baptist Church were she remained a member for 33 years, she was a member of the Priscilla Sunday School Class, and was active in the Woman's Missionary Union.
Alice is survived by her husband of 66 years, J. Floyd Clark of Corpus Christi, Texas; son, Floyd R. (Linda) Clark of Houston, Texas; daughter, Ann (Jack) Dunlap of Lumberton, North Carolina; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Other survivors include one sister, Myrtle Tyson of Corpus Christi, Texas; and many beloved nieces, and nephews. Alice devoted her life to helping others, she will be remembered for her love of God. She was a loving wife, mother, and friend to many she will be dearly missed and remembered for her sparkling personality by her family and all the lives she touched.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 26, 2000 in the Seaside Chapel. Entombment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park. Family will be accepting friends and family for a gathering at the Seaside Funeral Home after the Service.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering of First Baptist Church at 3115 Ocean Dr. Corpus Christi, Texas 78412.
