Dorothea was born in Laurel, Ore., a descendant of Oregon pioneers. Her childhood was spent in Portland with her large, close-knit family. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Elma; sisters, Juanita, Mildred, Vivian, Helen and Betty Ann; and brother, Wesley. Dorothea was the last surviving sibling. In 1931 she married Edgar Newcomb. They divorced in 1942. She worked as an elevator operator at Meier & Frank until enlisting in the Women's Army Corps during World War II. Dorothea married John Still in 1950. They enjoyed a loving marriage until his death in 1991. Dorothea was a woman of great beauty and style, she was always well-dressed and her home well-decorated. More than that, she is remembered for her courage in times of trouble. Funny and witty to her last day, she was often referred to as "a character." Her interests included reading, music, especially opera, and presidential history. Most especially, she enjoyed her family and friends, of whom there were plenty. Dorothea was dearly loved and will be dearly missed by many. Dorothea is survived by her children, Wesley, Cathie, Jeff, Kim (Carl) and twins, Brett and Shauna; grandchildren, Joel, Jackson, Alexandra, Darr, Doug, Melissa, Ryan and Amber; three great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends; with a special mention of her dear friend, Lola Mintun, from their elevator days. No funeral will be held per Dorothea's request. Interment will be in Willamette National Cemetery.

Arrangements under the direction of Ross Hollywood Chapel and Killingsworth St. Johns Lombard Little Chapel of the Chimes.
