Vlasta "Val" Gilmore, 70, of 3002 Strawbridge Place, Owensboro, died Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at Hillcrest Healthcare Center. The Daviess County native was a homemaker and a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church. Her husband, Edward M. Gilmore Sr., preceded her in death on March 21, 1996. She is survived by a son, Edward J. Gilmore Jr., and daughter-in-law Valerie Gilmore of Owensboro; two grandsons, Logan Gilmore and Layton Gilmore of Owensboro; and a granddaughter, Mariah Phillips of Chicago. Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, April 2, at Blessed Mother Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. William Cemetery in Knottsville. Visitation will be at Glenn Funeral Home today from 1 to 8 p.m., with prayers at 6 p.m
