Pvt James Diodato, 26, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ignazio Diodata of Sweet Corners Rd, was killed in action in Italy on October 15, according to word received by his parents from the War Department.
Pvt Diodato, who was serving in a Tank division, went into service from Rochester on December 23, 1942 and had been overseas 16 months. He attended Washington High School in Rochester and was employed at Symington Gould Corp prior to entering the Armed Service.
He leaves behind his parents, five sisters and two brothers.
