Rev. Hubert G. Stacey was the son of William Stacey. He was born Eton Wick. Before coming to America in 1918, "his colorful career embraced soldiering in China, Gibraltar, Palestine and India. He was a Lay Preacher in the English Royal Navy from 1899 to 1905 and later in Malapuram, India, where he also served in the Y.M.C.A and other men's societies." Rev Stacey became a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church: Genesee (Western New York/now Upper New York) Conference 1922 F 1925.. He was ordained Deacon October 11, 1925 in Niagara Falls: St. Pauls Methodist Episcopal Church by Bishop Frederick D. Leete - Ordained Elder October 9, 1927 in Rochester: Asbury Methodist Episcopal Church by Bishop Adna Wright Leonard. Florence M. (Suter) Stacey was his 1st wife. They were married December 17, 1912. Florence died June 8, 1925. Dorothy Eleanor (Howard) Stacey Ritchie was his 2nd wife. Her 2nd husband was Albert D. Ritchie, Jr. They were married in 1945. Dorothy died October 29, 1990. Mr. Ritchie died April 17, 2003.
