Rhythm and Blues Singer. He was the lead singer of the 1950s musical group, "The Platters". During the 1950s they appeared in the films, "Girls Town" (1959), "Rock All Night" (1957), "The Girls Can't Help It" (1957), and "Rock Around The Clock" (1956). They recorded many songs as well including, "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes" "Twilight Time" "My Prayer" "Only You (And You Alone)" "The Great Pretender" "Harbor Lights" and "You've Got (That Magic Touch)". In 1990, 'The Platters' were inducted in to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.
