Barrister-At-Law. He was godson of Sir Robert Inglis, Bart., M.P., whose whole-length portrait was painted for the Bodleian Gallery, at Oxford, by his father, George Richmond, and exhibited in 1854. Sir Robert Inglis, 1786-1855, Conservative politician, replaced Sir Robert Peel as M.P. for Oxford, 1828-53. He was a brilliant scholar, and great things had been expected of him both at Charterhouse and Oxford.
