DANVILLE — Larry B. Lyons, 63, of Plum Street, Danville, died Friday, June 10, 2011, at his residence.

He was born June 29, 1947, in Mount Vernon to the late Evelyn Mae (Byers) and Edwin Lyons. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and was the owner of the former Buckeye Arco service station. He was also a member of the Danville School Board for many years, and of the Danville Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon M. (Marshall) Lyons, on July 26, 2010; and brothers, Lee and Lyle Lyons.

He is survived by a son, Steve (Kris) Lyons of Howard; a daughter, Darcy (Justin) Perry of Blacklick; grandchildren, Sidney, Owen, Sam, Olivia and Drew; brothers, Lynn and Lanny Lyons of Danville; and a brother-in-law, Larry Marshall.

A funeral service will be held Monday, June 13, at 11 a.m. at the Danville Church of Christ, 15961 Danville-Jelloway Road. Matt McManaway will officiate. Burial, with military rites from the Knox County Joint Veterans Council, will follow in Workman Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home, 403 High St., Danville.
