Margaret Bachand, 94, of Garden Grove, Calif., died on March 14, 2004. Margaret was born on Nov. 2, 1909 to Coral (Leininger) and Valentine Zimmerman of Loup City. An older sister, Evelyn, was also born to this union. Following Tine (Valentine) Zimmerman's death before Margaret was born, her mother Cora married Romeo S. Conger who was also a widower with two daughters, Hazel and Doris. DeLass, Dwight, and Gwen Conger were born from this marriage. She graduated from Loup City High School in 1927. Following the death of her husband, Leo, she has made her home with her remaining half-sister, Gwen (Conger) Anderson in Garden Grove, Calif. Interment was at Green Hills in Palos Verdes, Calif.
