Four brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. He was a retired farmer, Wabash employee and retired minister of the Kaskaskia Church where he has been a life-time member.
He was married to Edith Watson in Nov 1908. She passed away in Feb 1947.
To this union nine children were born, all survive. In May 1949 he was married to Mrs. Florence Childress Beck, who survives. Children are Mrs. Henry (Opal) Lawrence of Owensboro, Ky; Mrs. Wm. (Ada) Dunker, of Camden, Ark; Mrs. Violet Pearce of Mass; Mrs. Ray (Ruth) Fritz and Mrs. Gladys Mize both of Decatur; Mrs. Chas. (May) Maurer of Phoenix, Ariz; Mrs. Earl (Lois) Traughber of Boise, Idaho; Sons Paul L. Eagleton of Bossier City, La and Glen Eagleton of Decatur, Step son Cale Beck of Herrick; stepdaughters Mrs. Kenneth (Velva Rose) Henderson, of Herrick and Mrs. Wm. (Kathleen) Sprecklemeyer of Oreana and Mrs Wm. (Ruth) Turner of Shelbyville.
