US Congressman. Elected to represent New Hampshire's 1st District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1938 to 1939. He was defeated in 1938, and 1940. Also served as a Member of the New Hampshire State House of Representatives from 1925 to 1931, Member of the New Hampshire Governor's Council from 1933 to 1937, Delegate to Democratic National Convention from New Hampshire in 1944, and Candidate for United States Senator from New Hampshire in 1960.
