They were married July 30, 1938.
Mr. Arthur was born Sept. 27, 1915, in Blanchester, son of the late E. Lowell and Edith Printy Arthur. He was a retired letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Dayton and a retired lay minister. The last church he pastored was the Lees Creek United Church of Christ. He was a volunteer at Clinton Memorial Hospital and a member of the Wilmington F&AM Lodge 52, Wilmington Lions Club, the Train Club and the National Association of Letter Carriers. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He attended First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ, Wilmington.
He is survived by two sons; a brother; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Ziegler and Betty Moore.
At Mr. Arthur's request, his body was bequeathed to medical science. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. June 15 at First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ, 120 Columbus St., Wilmington, Dr. Robert Byler officiating.
