In his History of Cayuga County (1879), Elliot G. Storke records (p.489) that Jabez Bradley arrived in Genoa in the Spring of 1792 from Lee, Massachusetts. He built a log house "near the orchard west of S.C. Fessenden's in Northville [now King Ferry], where he was the first to break the forest, and which was known for years as Bradleys Corners." He returned to Lee in the fall of 1793 and returned the following February with his family, accompanied by his brother-in-law Heman Bradley and his wife [Anna West Bradley]. "In 1800, Jabez built the house where his youngest son Walter G. resides." Jabez Bradley had great energy and was a valuable citizen. Within six weeks after he moved here he was elected one of the commissioners of highways of the town of Milton [now Genoa], and reelected in 1795."

Jabez Bradley married his fourth cousin Esther Bradley, the daughter of Eli Bradley and Esther Goodyear of New Haven in 1785. They had at least eleven children between 1786 and 1808: Hannah (1786-1807), Esther (1788-1817), Julia (1790-1826), Jabez (b. 1792), Dan (1794-1826), Henry (1796-1878), Lue (1796-1798), Sue, later called "Lue" (1798-1873), Anna (b. 1800), Elizabeth (1803-1841) and Walter G. (1808-1882).

Darius Adams married two of Jabez Bradley's daughters: In 1813 he married Esther, the recent widow of Reuben Pomeroy; and on Esther's death he married in 1818 her younger sister Sue/Lue.

Some genealogical records (Ancestry.com) record the place of death of Jabez Bradley (and his wife Esther) as "Northville, Fulton County, NY." We think this is a mistaken reading of Northville (now King Ferry), Cayuga County, NY.
