Final rites were held for James M. Boswell, 83, were held at the Jean Baptist Church with Rev. W.H. Townsend, pastor of the Olney First Baptist Church, assisted by Rev. Elmer Holt of Pecos, Rev. Z.N. Abobtt of Jean Baptist Church and Rev. Grover Laney, local minister.

He married Miss Fannie Puckett on 17 December 1885. To this union, five children were born. The eldest child died in infancy.

Mr. Boswell was converted and united with the Baptist Church in 1883. He began serving as a deacon in 1896. He was made Master Mason in 1880 at Elkins, Tennessee. The Masons conducted their ceremonial rites at the cemetery. Coming to Texas from Tennessee in 1901, Mr. Boswell settled first in Navarro County. He came from near Corsicana to Young County in 1915. Mr. Boswell taught school in Young County for several years. He had read the Bible three times in the last three years. He could quote scripture like a preacher. He never had any bad habits and never used any language that he could not use before his children.
