She was born September 6, 1912 in Toby Township, Clarion County, to the late Edwin A. and Louie G. Dunn Crick.
Bernice attended Clarion University and began teaching in Clarion County.
She moved to Warren County, where she lived for most of her life, as teacher and educator in the Warren County School District, from which she retired. A former Clarendon resident, Bernice was a member of Tiona United Methodist Church and the Golden Rulers class.
She is survived by one sister, Thelma F. Crick, Sligo; one stepdaughter, Lilyan Grosch, Warren; two stepsons, J.D. Champion, Youngsville and Donald Champion, Sheffield; ten grandchildren, Nan Steber, Sue Papala, Jay Champion, Paul Champion, Judith Champion Work, Donna Champion Kukla, Gary Grosch, Cheryl Grosch, Ron Grosch, And James Grosch; two nieces, Carol Cross and Penny Kunselman; and two nephews, Roger Crick and Gary Crick.
In addition to her parents, Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, E. Dirl Champion; three brothers, Kenneth W. Crick, Raymond H. Crick, and Clifford L. Crick; one sister, Lois M. Ogrodnichek; one grandson, Larry Champion; and one greatgranddaughter, Stephanie Saber.
