Jeannette Catherine Zittle was a daughter of Catherine (née Hutzel) and Peter H. Zittle; born on 15 October 1849 in Zittlestown, Boonsboro District, Washington County, Maryland. She was enumerated there in 1850 and 1860 with her parents and siblings.

Jeannette Zittle was the mother of Anna M. Zittle, born in 1871. Anna was enumerated in 1880 in her Zittle grandparents' household, and died in 1888 at the age of 17 in her maternal aunt Emma Trieber's home.

Jeanette Zittle and Henry C. Ford were married on 9 December 1874 in Washington County, Maryland. The couple were the parents of four children.
