Love Mae Allen, 96, a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, TN, but from Camphill, AL, died on Sunday, June 19, 2011.

She was a faithful member of Missionary Ridge Baptist Church for many years until she moved her dedication to Hawkinsville Missionary Baptist Church in her later years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John William Rister Allen and Elizabeth McKnight Allen; and brother-in-law, Haywood Tensley, and daughter-in-law, Darawan L. Allen.

Mrs. Allen is survived by her sons, William Calvin Allen Sr. and Franklin D. Allen; two sisters, Annie Bell Tensley and Odie Mell (Sidney) Skillern; devoted grandchildren, Dwanna (Charles) Kimbrough, Justin L. Allen, Joseph (Cathy) Allen, Charita D. Allen, Derrick Allen, Latecia Allen, Sherrolyn Williams, William Calvin Allen Jr., Lovetta Allen, Sylvia Allen, Christopher Allen and Jacquelyn Allen; great-grandchildren, Jeremy L. Kimbrough, Jaida D. Kimbrough, Lya J. Kimbrough, Jalah D. Allen, Jordan A. Allen, Jaylen W. Allen, Jacob K. Allen, Justyce K. Allen, Chris and Kristen Winston; six additional great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, nieces, JoAnn Skillern Ryce, Veronica (Thomas) Walker, Shirley Ann Dial, nephew, Victor Skillern Sr. and many other great-nieces and nephews and cousins.

Homegoing services will be at noon on Thursday, June 23, at Hawkinsville Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Bobby L. Hampton Sr. officiating.

Interment will follow at Lakewood East Memory Gardens Cemetery.

She will lie in state on Wednesday, June 22, after noon with the family receiving friends from 6–8 p.m. at the John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, Chattanooga, TN.
