BROWNSTOWN - Dale D. Smith, 68, of Brownstown died 7:30 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 3, 1987) in St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday in Liberty Christian Church, Brownstown. The body will lie in state noon until services. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Claggett Funeral Home, Brownstown. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery, Brownstown. Memorials: Golden Years Club.
Mr. Smith was born in Brownstown, son of William and Alice Smith. He was a farmer. He was a member of the Liberty Christian Church and Fox Hunters Club. He married Lola Lenore Childress in 1942.
Surviving are his wife; sons, Terry, Billy, Kevin, Gary and Brian, all of Brownstown; daughters, Carolyn Grames and Barbara Morrison, both of Brownstown; Lois Jean Stoneburner of Beecher City; Lola Gehle of Brownstown; Mary Salmons of St. Elmo; brother, Clarence of Brownstown; sister, Mary Hester Naber of St. Peter; 23 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
One half brother and two grandchildren preceded him in death.
