William Carl Coffman, 68, longtime Oklahoma City resident and retired postal employee, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, June 29, 1996, after a brief battle with cancer. Carl was a longtime Baptist and a charter member of Baptist Temple. Carl's father, Browell Coffman, passed away when Carl was young. Carl was raised by his mother, Dorothy and stepfather, Bill Maddox. He was predeceased by his loving wife of many years, Doris Maude Blankenship Coffman. He is survived by a stepbrother, Cleo Maddox; daughter, Jerry Wade and husband, Jim and grandson, Eddie. He is also survived by several cousins.
Carl attended Northeast Junior High and graduated from Central High School in 1946. He loved gardening and working in his yard when his health permitted. He also liked working with his computer and electronic devices. Graveside services will be Wednesday, 3:00 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery.
