U.S. Congressman. He attended the attended University of Chicago, graduated from George Williams College in 1961, and was corporate Director of Financial Development, YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago, Illinois. He was a member of the Illinois State House of Representatives, (1973-77) and a Illinois State Senator, (1977-85). In 1985, he was elected as a Republican to the Ninety-ninth Congress and served until his death from cancer at age 61.
