Barbara J. Duckett, 78, of Linton and formerly of Shelbyville, IL, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Glenburn Home in Linton.

Born in Shelbyville, IL on Feb. 26, 1933, she was the daughter of Morris F. and Fern I. (Adams) Shuff.

Barbara married Raymond E. Durbin on Aug. 23, 1954, he passed away on Aug. 31, 1976. She then married Gerald B. Duckett on June 10, 1997 and he passed away on May 6, 2004.

Barbara graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1954. She was a homemaker and worked at the Morgan House in Shelbyville for many years.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda (Larry) White of Linton, Ruby (Brad) Shupe of Effingham, IL; step-children Darryl Duckett of CA, Michael (Tomara) Duckett of Fredericksburg, VA, Laura (Larry) Walther of San Marcos, CA, and Cheryl (Scott) Ikemire of Naperville, IL; brother Raymond (Delores) Shuff of Shelbyville, IL; sisters, Delores Adams of Shelbyville, IL, Florence (Elza) Durbin of Windsor, IL; grandchildren Nikki White, Ashley (Travis) Mathis, Kim, Ryan and Darin Shupe; step-grandchildren Sheryl, Erica and Mitchell Marx, Danielle and Matthew Ikemire and Alyx and Logan Duckett; and great-grandson, Banx Mathis.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Raymond Durbin and Gerald Duckett; son, Noel Durbin; brother Morris Shuff, Jr. and sister Kathern Henderson.

Memorials may be given to the Shelbyville Garden Club for the Memorial Sunken Garden Project, or the Activity Fund of Glenburn Home.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28 at Howe and Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville, IL, with the Rev. Kevin Ray officiating. Friends may call from noon until 2 p.m. on Tuesday. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Shelbyville.

Local funeral arrangements are being handled by Anderson-Poindexter Funeral Home in Linton.
