PETER ACKERMAN

Peter Ackerman, 85, son of George and Margretha Ackerman, was born in Rohrbach, South Russia, Sept. 19, 1850 and died at his home in Sutton, Feb. 19, 1936. He was married in 1872 to Margaret Bohlander. To this union were born fifteeen children, five of whom passed away. they came here in 1886, settling on a farm east of Sutton. In 1905 the wife died. In 1911, Mr. Ackerman was married again, to Mrs. Margaret Rauscher, by whom he is survived. They moved into their home in east Sutton in 1916. He is survived by ten children, eighty-two grandchildren and thirty-six great grandchildren. the children are Peter Ackerman, Jr., Jacob, John, Fred, Andrew, Mrs. L. L. Nuss, Mrs. John Schmidt, Mrs. Jacob Klundt, Mrs. Karl Newhardt [sic} and Mrs. L. Unterseher.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the Methodist church with the Rev. U. Zogg, of Scotland, South Dakota, preaching the sermon from the text Thessalonians 4:13-18. Pall bearers were grandsons, Edward, Gustaf, Herbert and Edgar Ackerman, Solomon Nuss and Jacob Klundt. - Sutton Correspondent.
