Mother: Monta Marie Splawn Judd (14 July 1912 – 26 September 1991)

Paul Edward Judd, a resident of East County, died December 7, 2009 in Portland. He was 73 years of age.

Paul was born August 15, 1936 in Portland, Oregon and he was the son of Thurston and Monta (Splawn) Judd. He was raised and educated in Gresham and graduated from Gresham High School. He later attended Troy State University in Alabama where he received his bachelors degree.

In the 1954 Paul enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He served his country for nearly four years receiving an honorable discharge in 1958.

He returned to Portland where he worked in maintenance for Reach Community and Development in Portland. He retired in 2002 after many years of employment.

Retirement did not suit Paul, so he returned to work as a maintenance man for Princeton Properties in Portland. He was employed with them for the past 2 years.

Paul was a jack of all trades and could do and fix anything. He was nick named "Mr. Fix-it" by his friends, family and neighbors for his willingness to help and his knowledge of repairs.

He also loved to travel, always by car or train. He loved museums, the Narrow Gage Railroad, and loved to build World War II model airplanes.

He liked to bake and always showered his family with Christmas Treats during the holiday season. He was a family man that adored his children and grandkids and even found time to volunteer with boy scouts and dress up as Santa for Reach Community and Development. He was also very involved with the Reach Paint-A-Thon.

Paul is survived by his two daughters; Paulette Mattson of Vancouver and Suzette Welborn of Vancouver, his two brothers; Ted Judd and Dave Judd both of Oregon City and his 3 grandchildren; Parker, Samantha and Hunter. His brother Denny preceded him in death.

Visitation Friday, December 11, 2009 from 10 am–5 pm at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham. Military Honors will be rendered Friday, December 11, 2009 at 11 am also at Bateman Carroll.
