Lucy was the oldest daughter of farmers Joel & Sarah (Clark) Butler. She married railway conductor William G. Wyant in Mercer Co, WV on Oct 10, 1888.

HINTON, Dec. 17 - Mrs. Lucy Ann Wyant, 88, one of Hinton's oldest residents, died at 6:50 a.m. today in the Hinton Hospital. She had been a patient at the hospital for one week. Born May 1, 1869 at Hill Top, she was the daughter of the late Joel A. and Sarah Emaline Clark Butler. Mrs. Wyant had resided in Hinton for 68 years. Her husband, William G. Wyant preceded her in death in 1901. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Frank Wyant of Hinton; three brothers, C. A. of Hinton, R. J. of Houston, Texas and Rufus P. Butler of Lerona; one sister, Mrs. W. H. Caldwell of Athens; and one grandson. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday with Dr. H. P. Hackney in charge. Burial will be in Monta Vista Cemetery at Bluefield. The body will remain at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors.
