John Seaton Robinson

Death: May 25, 1903

US Congressman. He represented the 9th district of Nebraska in Congress as a member of the Democratic party from March 1899 until March 1903. He was born in Wheeling, Virginia (now West Virginia) and studied law. In 1880 he was admitted to the bar in West Virginia. In 1884 he moved to Madison, Nebraska and became the prosecuting attorney for Madison County, Nebraska from 1886 to 1888 and again from 1890 to 1892. He was a judge of the Nebraska's ninth judicial district from 1893 to 1895. In 1898 he ran for Congress on the Democratic ticket and was elected to two terms. In 1902 he was defeated for a third congressional term and he died in Madison, Nebraska at the age of 67, three months after the expiration of his 2nd term. (bio by: William Bjornstad)
