Word has been received in Waynesburg of the death of Ernest P. Grove, aged about 60, on January 21, 1974. He was from Baltimore, and formerly of Waynesburg. He died in Walter Reed Hospital, Washington, D. C., following a long illness.
Mr. Grove was a long time member of the Maryland National Guard and the Maryland State Police.
He was born and reared in Waynesburg and was a son of the late Pierce Grove and Ocie Grove Garard, who now resides at Girard.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his widow, Doris Jirdan Grove; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Joan) Howard; one granddaughter and one great granddaughter, all of Baltimore; one brother, George R. Grove of Girard, R. D. 1; and one sister, Mrs. Louise Tudor, of Freedom.
A daughter, Frances, is deceased.
He was a grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Grove of Waynesburg and the late Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Pounds of Sycamore. He was a nephew of Sherman Pounds of Sycamore; Mrs. Clarence Braden of Waynesburg and Mrs. Emma Milliken of Washington.
