Opal O. (Dobbs) Scybolosky was born October 12, 1912 near Rosebud, Texas, weighing only 2.5 pounds, and had a twin brother who lived only 5 days. She went to be with our Lord on July 4, 2011. Opal was the daughter of John D. and Alpha E. (Russell) Dobbs, both deceased. She was saved at an early age, and was an active member of Lindale Baptist Church for many years. She attended school in Normangee, Texas, and was married April 19, 1929 to Jesse Alexander Sandel, deceased. Opal later married Alexander Scybolosky, and they had been married 46 years when he passed away. She was employed many years with Houston Coca-Cola Bottling Company.

Opal was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters. She is survived by one daughter, Muriel (Sandel) Parks. Muriel's husband of 56 years, Robert Parks, is now deceased. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Kathy and husband, Rick, and Kerry and wife, Jan; 1 great-grandson, Jason; 3 great-granddaughters, Melissa and husband, Josh, Haley, and Shelby; 1 great-great-grandson, Jacob, and by a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation was Wednesday evening at Heights Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2011 in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home with the Reverend Rod Norville officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer, Houston, Texas 77077.
