Mary Marie Perkins Snipes, age 75, of Scott Court, Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky.
Born July 17, 1935, in Beallsville, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Howard L. and Rose Anna Phillips Perkins.
Mrs. Snipes was a G.T.E. employee for 35 years and a member of Concord Enterprise Baptist Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Norma Jean Perkins.
Mary is survived by one daughter, Susan Armstrong and husband Preston of Morehead, Kentucky; one son, David S. Johnson and wife Lucy of Savannah, Georgia; five grandchildren, James Johnson, Sarah Harper, Michael Armstrong, Brandon Armstrong, and Jennifer Armstrong; and three great grandchildren, Kara Harper, Jacob Johnson and Laci Johnson. Other survivors include two sisters, Edith McVey and Sherry O'Neal, both of Sandy Hook, Kentucky; two brothers, Lewis Lee Johnson of Savannah, Georgia, and Gene Johnson of Sandy Hook, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Charles Skaggs, Rev. Eugene Dickerson, Rev. Ricky Lewis, and Brother Willie Pennington officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Visitation is after 6 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, Kentucky.
Pallbearers: Michael Armstrong, James Johnson, Brandon Armstrong, Gene Johnson, Howard McVey, and Randy McVey.
