Lawrence was born to Leo and Mary (Burzkowiak) Wesolowski while they lived in Iowa. The family later moved to Browerville, Todd County, MN. Lawrence shortened his name to Wesloski. He served in the U.S. Army from 16 Oct. 1941 to 13 Nov. 1945.
