OBITUARY
A Mass for Mrs. Elsie D. Cavicchia, 94, of Bloomfield, who had been a school principal in Newark, will be offered at 10 a.m. tomorrow in Sacred Heart Church, Bloomfield. The funeral will be from the LaMonica Memorial Home, 299 Bloomfield Ave., Bloomfield.
Mrs. Cavicchia, who died Friday in the Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville, began her career as an eighth grade teacher for the Oliver Street School, Newark, for 20 years. After that, she was a vice principal for Burnet Street School, Newark.
Before her retirement in 1975, Mrs. Cavicchia served as principal for Charleton Street, Peshine Avenue, Alexander Street and Speedway Avenue schools, all of Newark for 30 years.
She graduated from Newark Normal School with a bachelor's degree in education and Seton Hall University, South Orange, with a master's degree in administration and supervision.
Mrs. Cavicchia served as president of the Newark Teacher's Association, the Newark Principals and Supervisors Association and the Mount Carmel Guild, Newark.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Carolyn Adubato and Mrs. Helen Rinaldi, and a brother, Dr. Albert E. Del Negro.
