Jordanian Monarch. He served as the King of Jordan from July 20, 1951 to August 11 1952. He assumed the role of King after the assassination of his father Abdullah. He abdicated the throne in August 1952 due to ill health after only a year. During his short rule he helped to make the relations between Jordan, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia, stronger then they had been in the past. He was also responsible for the development of a new and improved liberalized constitution. In 1934 he married Queen Zein Al-Sharaf and was the father of the late King Hussein, Prince El Hassan, Prince Muhammad, and Princess Basma.
