Jackie Van Zant

1933-2011

Jackie Van Zant, 78, St. Joseph, Missouri, died Monday, June 27, 2011 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.

She was born April 19, 1933 to Amos David and Blanche (Watts) McPhail in St. Joseph and remained a lifelong resident.

Jackie married Lester William Van Zant February 14, 1971.

She was a Chiropractic Assistant for her father's practice for many years. Jackie was a member of American Association of University Women.

She was a wonderful Mother and enjoyed spending time with her family and loved dancing.

The Family wishes to express their thanks to Jackie's caregivers, especially James Beaver and his family and Althea Taylor. Special thanks to Heartland Regional Medical Center, Dr. Annette Smith, Dr. Alderson and the other Doctors and staff members.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors: her husband; son, Lynn Randall Van Zant (Laurie), New Jersey; grandchildren, Austin Gary Van Zant and Julia Rose Van Zant; and several other relatives and close friends.

Services: 10:00 A.M. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The Family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The Family suggests memorial gifts to First Baptist Church of Gower.
