Charles a retired logger and sawmill worker, died Monday in the hospital. He was a member of the Portland Toy and Joy Makers. Also a member of Independent Order of Odd Fellows in La Grande,1927; A member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #27 in Baker City,1928; A member of the Loyal Order of Moose #1106 in Klamath Falls,1939. Charles was a member of the Western Conference of Teamster. Later he was given a life membership by Local Union #206 in Portland,1966. All memberships were in Oregon. Charles worked for Safeway & Fred Meyer from where he retired.

Charles married his first wife Grace L (Morgan) in Greenfield Iowa 11, Feb. 1914. They had three children; Harold, Lyle & Betty Ann.
