KINSMAN - Raymond F. Ellwood Sr. 77, died Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born March 16, 1934, in Youngstown, a son of Francis and Theresa (Kornitzer) Ellwood.

He was a 1952 graduate of St. Mary's High School in Warren and attended Youngstown State and Kent State University.

Mr. Ellwood served in the National Guard for six years. A long time Kinsman resident, Mr. Ellwood was employed by Warren Consolidated Inc. for 45 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Kinsman, and he enjoyed farming, woodworking, and restoring his century old home. He loved to fish, hunt, water ski and play football.

Mr. Ellwood is survived by his wife, Janet (Fateley) Ellwood, whom he married April 12, 1958, of Kinsman; two sons, Paul R. (Karyn) Ellwood of Greenville Junction, Maine and Raymond F. (John Looney) Ellwood Jr. of Lancaster; five daughters, Cynthia L. Ellwood of Black Hawk, Colo., Kathleen M. (Joseph Croskey) Ellwood of Clarion, Pa., Janice L. (Rich Bellas) Ellwood of Kinsman, Joanne L. Ellwood of Kinsman and Karen J. Ellwood of Kinsman; one sister, Renee (Andrew) Villnave of Chardon; five grandchildren, Jennifer Murray, Elizabeth Murray, Garrick Ellwood, Caroline Ellwood and Joshua Ellwood Bellas; three sisters-in-law, Connie Selby, Patty Ellwood and Maria Ellwood; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Richard, Ronald and Robert Ellwood.

Burial will follow at Kinsman Cemetery.
