Research provides that she was the daughter of Elizabeth Hardesty and John Holloway who had married 27 Apr 1835 in Fountain County, Indiana. The Hardesty family moved North to Jasper County and were near neighbor to Elias Oxford family in 1850 census.
Young Elizabeth married Joseph Hooks on 4 Nov 1860 and they had three known children: Margaret, Roselle and John. Elizabeth died soon after birth of her last child.
