Majorie V. Mueck, 85, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011 due to complications of congested heart failure at the Nix Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. She was born November 3, 1925 in Robstown, Texas to Allen F. and Kaleta Vannoy. She grew up in McAllen, Texas where she graduated from McAllen High School. She attained her Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics from the University of Texas. She later graduated with a Master's Degree in Education from Texas A&I in Kingsville, Texas. She moved to Corpus Christi where she married Vernon S. Mueck on July 10, 1954. They were married for 44 years and had one son, Allen V. Mueck.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.

She is survived by her son; her brother, Tom R. Vannoy; sister, Francis V. Metcalf; nieces and nephew.

She began her teaching career in Edinburg High and Junior College. She then worked for the Texas Education Agency as the School Lunch Coordinator. She taught at Roy Miller H.S., and then went to Richard King H.S. and worked as a Guidance Counselor. She ended her career as a LPC at MHMR Inpatient Youth. She also served on the board of St. John's U.M.C, Pan-American Round Table, AAUW Delta Kappa Gamma and YWCA. She enjoyed playing and watching tennis, as well as traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She had a great spirit and was a great friend to many. She touched many lives and will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 18, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with family present from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors located at 4901 Everhart.

Entombment will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 10:00 a.m., at Seaside Memorial Park, with memorial service at 11:00 a.m., at St. John United Methodist Church located at 5300 S. Alameda.
