Josie and Luther never had any children and although a divorce is record for Josie and Luther, a official record was never found, Luther married a one more time to Edith McGowen.
Josie was a practical nurse and helped deliver her sister Nora's daughter Marjorie. When she came to visit family, she would sing to the family. She had a beautiful voice.
Josie long-time friend, Winfield Mowery came to work on the Coffee farm in 1920 in West Plains after William T. Coffee had died. It was Winfield who placed Josie in the State Hospital in Clarinda, IA on September 14, 1942 for Schizophrenia. Josie was still in the hospital when Winfield died in 1949.
