Mrs. Ruth Janes Dies Here at 72; Funeral Friday
Mrs. Ruth S. Janes, 633 Vinci street, widow of the late David Porter Janes, died at Whitaker Hospital at 2:30 o'clock this morning.
Mrs. Janes' husband, a captain in World War I, was a lawyer here for several years and also worked for the state department in Jefferson City. He died in an airplane accident in 1940 when he was in government employ.
Mrs. Janes, 72, was a native of Clarence and was the daughter of James W. Catlett and Mrs. Mary Ellen Webb Catlett. She is survived by one granddaughter, Mrs. Ruth Ellen Spader, Paramount, Calif.; three great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A son, David W. Janes, preceded her in death.
Visitation for Mrs. Janes began at the Mahan Funeral Home at noon today. Funeral services will be conducted in the Mahan chapel at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon by the Rev. Bradford V. Powell former pastor of Trinity Methodist Church here, now at Mexico. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Paris.
