George F. Rischmueller passed away with friends and family by his side on Friday, July 22, 2011 in West Jordan, Utah. George is survived by his son, daughter, granddaughter, and great-grandson.

He was born in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin on November 11, 1931 and spent his early years in McGregor, Iowa. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and then attended the University of Iowa graduating with a degree in business. He was a proud alumni and never left the house without his black and gold class ring and Hawkeye hat.

After college he worked for the Burlington Northern San Francisco Railroad for thirty years as a Trainmaster. He knew anything and everything about trains, tracks, and rails. Working for the railroad he had the opportunity to travel across America and enjoyed sharing his experiences. Some would say he had a one track mind and trains were running it.

After retirement he moved to Utah to be with his only granddaughter Sarah who he enjoyed spending time with and loved. He volunteered at the Fellowship "Hall" Foundation with his dear friend Roberta for twenty years.

He regularly attended church at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Parish, where a Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a graveside service at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 4th Avenue and T Street.
