She died at 4 a.m. at the home of her father-in-law, John Rayl. His place was located about a mile and a half east of Green Camp.
Her funeral was held at John Rayl's home on November 12, 1885 at 2 p.m. Her remains were kept in the vault. (Probably due to the freeze, and she would be buried in the spring).

Other records I checked indicate her maiden name was Carrie Lucinda Place. There is a Carrie Lucinda Rayl buried in Marion Cemetery, but her spouse and death date is way off. There are no Rayls with her dates shown in Marion Cemetery. There is a Rayl family cemetery near Green Camp where her father-in-law lived, but it is a state of disrepair. I have searched that cemetery in the past, and found no readable headstones with her dates on them.
