William F. Zimmermann Sr. of Columbus, N.J., died Wednesday July 20, 2011, at Clare Bridge of Westampton. He was 90.

Born Sept. 27, 1920, in Burlington, he was the son of the late Albert and Viola Zimmermann.

A U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, he served his country honorably during World War II.

A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business in 1955, he was self-employed as an engineering consultant, retiring in 1992.

He was a member of the Broad Street United Methodist Church in Burlington.

He had also been a member of the Springfield Golf Club. In addition to his enjoyment of playing golf, he also enjoyed traveling extensively with his wife Barbara.

Preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Zimmermann, he is survived by his wife of 28 years, Barbara (Stowell) Zimmermann of Columbus; his children and their spouses, William F. Zimmermann Jr. (Bernadette) of Delran, Craig Zimmermann (Winifred) of Utah, Leslie Ciccone (John) of Beverly, Mark F. Zimmermann (Nancy) of Burlington Township, Laurie S. Stuckey, R.N. (Robert) of Walkersville, Md., and William Joseph Horn (Amy) of Phoenixville, Pa. He also is survived by his sister-in-law, Elizabeth 'Betty' Zimmermann of Florida; and 11 grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service, at 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 25, at the Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union St., Burlington. Burial with military honors will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Burlington. Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

The family requests that donations in Mr. Zimmermann's name be made to the Burlington Township Dollars for Scholars, P.O. Box 66, Burlington, NJ. 08016.
