Professional Basketball Player. For five seasons (1989 to 1990, 1991 to 1993, 1995 to 1996, 1997 to 1998), he played at the forward position in the National Basketball Association with the Dallas Mavericks, Detroit Pistons, Minnesota Timberwolves, Washington Bullets and Toronto Raptors. Born Robert Glen McCann, he attended Morristown High School (New Jersey) and played collegiate basketball at Morehead State University. While with the Eagles, he earned All-Conference honors three-times and concluded his collegiate career as one of the school's all-time scorers. Selected by the Milwaukee Bucks during the 2nd round (32nd pick overall) of the 1987 NBA Draft, he would not mark his league debut until the 1989-1990 season with Dallas. His most productive year was 1992-1993, when he scored 495 points in 79 games with Minnesota. In 178 career regular season games, McCann recorded 739 points. After leaving the NBA, he extended his playing career in Europe. He was inducted into the Morehead State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2004. He died from heart failure.
