Near North Powder, Oregon. Nov 5, 1889, Samuel A. Huff. He was born in the Territory of Illinois, March 20, 1817. He was a very sincere Christian. Was converted in the Baptist Church in his early life. While studying the Bible to teach a young Christian friend that the Baptists were the church, he learned to see the gospel in the new light. That was 50 years ago. He then united with the Christian Church, and until 1871, when he moved to Kansas, he was a member of the Mt. Moriah Church, in Marion county. Ill. He at 31 married Letitia Deadmond. Death calling her away, in 1849, he married Mary A. Hill, whose death occurred in 1888. He leaves three sons, seven daughters and a stepdaughter. We mourn for our loss. We know he is at rest.
